Under the "Meaningful Meetings" initiative, the Association of Honorary Consuls in Bulgaria (AHCB) held a meeting with HE Ms. Marie Dumoulin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic the Bulgaria. Ambassador Dumoulin has been in Bulgaria since October 2025 and is very active in the support and development of French businesses in Bulgaria as well as cultural relations.
The meeting was held in friendly atmosphere, with frank conversation about the challenges facing Bulgaria and the prospects for development of the bilateral relations. Discussed were the development and future of the European Union and the broader relations with the USA, Russia, China and Turkey. Special attention was paid to the issue of the prospects for closer relations with the Republic of North Macedonia. Bulgaria and France have a long-standing and stable economic relationship and areas that have potential for further enlargement and main obstacles to that were discussed.
