Under the "Meaningful Meetings" initiative, the Association of Honorary Consuls in Bulgaria (AHCB) held a meeting with H.E. Joël Meyer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Republic of Bulgaria. Ambassador Meyer has been in Bulgaria since December 2022 and is very active in the development of business and cultural relations.
The meeting was held in friendly atmosphere, with frank conversation about the challenges facing Bulgaria and the prospects for development of the bilateral relations. Discussed were the development and future of the European Union and the broader relations with the UK, USA, Russia, China and Turkey. Bulgaria and France have a long-standing and stable economic relationship and areas that have potential for enlargement and main obstacles to that were discussed.
